Education plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of any society, and in Sierra Leone, various programs are being implemented to address the challenges of access and quality in education. One such initiative is the NYAF (National Youth and Adult Foundation) Radio Teaching Program, which has proven to be a revolutionary tool in enhancing education in remote and underserved areas. In Moyamba District, District Supervisors are playing a key role in ensuring that this program reaches its full potential and has a lasting impact on students, teachers, and communities alike.

The Role of Teachers in Enhancing Education Through the NYAF Radio Teaching Program
On Saturday, June 13, 2020, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, a crucial radio panel discussion was held at MODCAR 94.8 FM in Moyamba Town. This discussion featured two Teacher Coaches and two serving Teachers currently rendering services in the NYAF’s Radio Teaching Program in Moyamba District. The panelists engaged in an insightful dialogue moderated by the host, focusing on pressing educational issues affecting teaching and learning in the district.
The NYAF Radio Teaching Program is an educational initiative that leverages radio broadcasts to provide lessons to students in rural and hard-to-reach areas. This approach helps bridge the gap where there is a lack of physical infrastructure, qualified teachers, or other educational resources. The program offers a wide range of subjects, including math, science, literacy, and social studies, all broadcast through radio.
